Leslie Carter was an American pop singer who was born into a musical family - her siblings are the Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter and the hip-hop performer Aaron Carter. She signed a record deal in 1999 and began recording a debut album titled 'Like, Wow!' but its launch was delayed for various reasons and it has subsequently gone unreleased. The title single from the album did make it into the market and reached number 99 in the Billboard Hot 100. After starting a new music project in 2005 with her writing partner Dave Thompson (guitarist for the Canadian band High Holy Days), Carter eventually named her band The Other Half. The group performed a handful of gigs but after various problems the band split in 2009. In her private life Carter was experiencing problems with drug addiction and it is thought this may have contributed to her premature death in 2012 from what is believed to have been an accidental drug overdose.
