Electronic music production duo Letherette was founded Wolverampton, England in 2009 by Richard Roberts and Andrew Harber. Their music is a mix of American hip-hop and French house music. The duo, who have been friends since childhood, released the first in their digital Brown Lounge series in 2008. However, they first came to prominence when they remixed electronic musician/producer Bibio’s “Lover’s Carvings” in 2009. Beat Showcase #003, a mixtape that the duo provided to BTS radio in 2010, became enormously popular and earned them more commercial attention. Letherette released their debut release, EP1, in late 2010, and followed that up six months later with EP2 (2011). Signing with the influential Ninja Tune label, Letherette released the Featurette EP in November 2012. The single “D&T” was issued in March 2013, followed a month later by their self-titled debut album. Another single, “After Dawn”, was lifted from the album in August 2013. Letherette has released several digital albums and singles including Where Have All the People Gone? (2016), Last Night on the Planet (2016), plus four more volumes of their Brown Lounge series.
