Initiated in 2022 by guitarist, composer and performer Michael Jones with arranger Erick Benzi, L'Héritage Goldman aims to revive the songs of Jean-Jacques Goldman through the voices of the new generation. A loyal accompanist to the singer and member of the Fredericks Goldman Jones trio, Michael Jones has known Jean-Jacques Goldman since the group's early days with Thaï Phong, and helped write many of his songs right up to the last album released in 2001. After pursuing his own career and collaborating with other artists, he joined forces with Erick Benzi, who worked with Johnny Hallyday for many years, to create L'Héritage Goldman, featuring performers from the younger generation such as Lilian Renaud, Nérac, Mentissa, Marina Kaye, Marghe and Mary Cooper, as well as the Le Choeur Gospel de Paris choir. With new arrangements of the songs, a first volume entitled L'Héritage Goldman, Vol. 1 appeared in 2022, with contributions from Patricia Kaas, Carla Bruni and Céline Dion. The sequel, L'Héritage Goldman, Vol. 2, was released at the end of the year, and was followed by a tour of France, recorded in L'Héritage Goldman en Public (2024).
