Lim Jeong-hee

Lim Jeong-hee, also known as J-Lim, is a South Korean singer born in Seoul on May 17, 1981. She grew up in a musical family and developed an interest in pop music at a young age. After winning a teen song contest hosted by Seoul City, she decided to pursue a career in popular music and studied it in college. She gained popularity through her street performances before her official debut, which led to the formation of several fan clubs. Lim Jeong-hee made her debut in 2005 under JYP Entertainment with her first album Music is My Life. That same year, she won the Best New Artist awards from the Golden Disc Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards. In 2012, she signed with Big Hit Music and later moved to Oscar ENT in 2015. Her third album Before I Go, J-Lim (2007) gained attention for featuring Big Boi and a music video with G.NA, Hyuna, and comedian Park Hwi Soon. In addition to her music career, Lim Jeong-hee has also ventured into musical theater. She played the lead role in the musical Temptation of Wolves in 2011 and appeared on the tvN survival program Opera Star 2011, where she made it to the semi-finals.
