Lisa Keith

Born in Minnesota in 1960, American singer Lisa Keith made her name as a backing vocalist, notably for Herb Alpert and MC Lyte, before breaking through under her own name. A short-lived success, her debut album Walkin' in the Sun (1993), produced by the duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis for Perspective Records, unveiled the artist's only two hits: "Better Than You", which peaked at No. 36 in the pop charts, and "I'm in Love", at No. 84. In addition to fashionable New Jack Swing accents, the singer's style of pop here is electronic and danceable, even to the point of house. Lisa Keith is also known for her many collaborations over the years, with artists such as Patti LaBelle, Johnny Gill, Mint Condition, Janet Jackson, Alexander O'Neal, Karyn White, Cherrelle and The Human League.
