Lola Young

Born in London, England on January 4, 2001, Lola Young is an alternative pop singer and musician who came to prominence when her cover of Giorgio Moroder and Philip Oakey’s “Together in Electric Dreams” was used in a 2021 television commercial in the UK. Inspired by artists as diverse as Joni Mitchell and Prince, she began writing songs at the age of 11. After graduating from the BRIT School (for performing and creative arts), she signed a record deal with Island Records. Lola Young issued her Intro EP in November 2019, which was followed a few months later by the Renaissance EP. Working with producers Manuka and Paul Epworth, she crafted several more singles, including a cover of the “Together in Electric Dreams,” which was a 1985 collaboration between iconic producer Giorgio Moroder and Human League vocalist Philip Oakey. Her version of the song was chosen to be used in a Christmas ad campaign for the department store chain John Lewis & Partners. The song became a hit and was followed up by the 2022 singles “So Sorry” and “Stream of Consciousness.” In 2023, she released her debut album, My Mind Wanders and Sometimes Leaves Completely, which included the singles “Revolve Around You,” “Money,” “Don’t Hate Me,” and “Annabel’s House”. In late 2023, she released the single "Conceited", the first in a new series of songs that paved the way for the sophomore album This Wasn't Mean for You Anyway (2024), including the hit "Messy". It was followed by two more new singles, "Flicker of Light" and "Charlie", a collaboration with rapper Lil Yachty.
