Traditional Latin music has always been appreciated by Mexican audiences and one of the best known and most successful exponents of the genre has been the band Cardenales De Nuevo León. Formed in 1982 the group plays in the traditional música norteña (northern) style and began their recording career in 1984 with the release of their self-titled debut album. Since those early beginnings the band have gone from strength to strength, winning numerous industry accolades along the way. Hit singles such as 'Amor Chiquito' and 'El Sepulcro de Zapata' have etched their way into modern Mexican music culture and the band have an extensive and loyal fan base. With more than three decades in the music business the band have built up an impressive recording catalogue of more than 25 albums, and in recent years have turned to social media and YouTube to continue expanding their appeal to audiences throughout Latin America.
