Founded in 1987 by Amín Martínez, Los Chiches Vallenatos quickly became a prominent Colombian vallenato group, celebrated for their romantic style and memorable melodies. Their debut album, Enamorado del Amor (1988), featured the hit "Ceniza Fría," propelling them into national recognition. The subsequent release, De Uno a Uno (1989), included popular tracks like "A Tu Ventana" and "Me Tocó Perderte." In 1991, they unveiled Impactantes, their first album on compact disc, showcasing songs such as "Solo Puedo Quererte" and "Mosaico Chiches." The 1992 album Triunfadores solidified their status in the romantic vallenato scene, followed by Mejor Que Antes (1993), which featured the standout track "Muchacha Encantadora." The 1995 release Fábula de Amor included the widely acclaimed "Tierra Mala," extending their reach to international audiences in countries like Brazil, Mexico, Paraguay, and Bolivia. Collaborations, such as the "Mano a Mano" album with Los Embajadores Vallenatos in 1996, and albums like Volando Alto (1996) and Más Románticos (1997), featuring hits like "Mi Primer Amor," further cemented their legacy. Despite lineup changes, including the departure of Amín Martínez in 2003, the group continued to thrive under the leadership of vocalist Osmar Pérez, releasing successful albums like De Fiesta (2004) and Simplemente Osmar (2006). Their enduring appeal is evident through continuous tours across Latin America, Europe, and the United States, as well as recent releases such as Perdóname (2014) and Me Quema la Piel (2017).
