The Dutch house duo Lucas & Steve is formed of Lucas de Wert and Steven Jansen. Equally adept at DJing and producing records, the pair began collaborating in 2010, promptly signing with EDM behemoths Spinnin' Records. As well as recording their own creations, de Wert and Jansen also released a large number of remixes including material previously released by Felix Jaehn, Laurent Wolf, Showtek and Belgian DJ Lost Frequencies. The duo have enjoyed many chart hits, the most significant of these being “Summer On You” featuring fellow Dutch DJ Sam Feldt, which reached number 12 in the Dutch chart and is their highest charting track to date. Often revisiting classic songs and putting their own signature dancefloor-oriented spin on them, the pair returned to the charts in 2017 with “Up Till Dawn (On the Move)”, a future house rehash of Barthezz’ “On the Move”, and in 2018 with “I Could Be Wrong”, a piano-oriented take on US R&B icon Brandy’s oft-sampled 1994 hit “I Wanna Be Down”. After landing a number of high-profile remix opportunities for the likes of Robin Schulz, David Guetta and Armin van Buuren, they unveiled their debut album, Letters to Remember, in 2020, which spawned another national chart hit in the form of the Haris collaboration “Perfect”, based on A-ha’s ‘80s chart success “Take on Me”. With a current peak position of #64 on DJ Mag’s coveted annual Top 100 DJs list – determined by fan votes – the duo have become an internationally renowned act within dance music circles, with many of their songs having accrued tens of millions of streams.
