Luniz

Luniz is a hip hop duo formed in Oakland, California in 1993. Comprised of rappers Yukmouth and Numskull, Luniz scored a worldwide hit in 1995 with their debut single "I Got 5 On It." The single climbed into the top 10 of several international charts, reaching number 8 in the USA, number 3 in the UK, and number 2 in Germany. Their debut album, Operation Stackola (1995), also reached top positions in the international charts. In the USA, the album reached number 20 and hit platinum status. As quickly as the star rose, it faded again. In 1997, the second album, Lunitik Muzik, only made it to number 34 in the US. A third Luniz album, Silver & Black, followed in 2002, and then the two rappers then went their separate ways. Yukmouth and Numskull reunited and released the mixtape High Times in 2015, which was followed by their fourth official album, No Pressure, in 2018. However, the album was not a commercial success, and the members returned to their respective solo careers.
