María Rodríguez Garrido, who goes by Mala Rodriguez, is a rapper from Cadiz in southern Spain who has had one album on Billboard's Latin Rhythm Albums Chart, 'Bruja', which went to number six in 2013 and won a Latin Grammy Award as Best Urban Music Album. The track 'Quién Manda' on that album was nominated for Latin Grammy Awards as Best Urban Song and Best Urban/Fusion Performance. She won the Latin Grammy for Best Urban Song in 2010 for 'No Pidas Perdón' which appeared on the album 'Dirty Ballerina'. She grew up in Seville where she performed as a teenager and rose to fame with other acts from that city. Her first album 'Lujo Ibérico' came out in 2002 followed in 2004 by 'Alevosia'. 'Malamarismo' (2007) included the track 'Volvere' which is heard in the action film 'Fast & Furious' (2009). She has performed with artists such as Julieta Venegas, Maroon 5 and Björk but she took a break in 2014 until 2018 when she released a single titled 'Gitanas'. Her 2018 schedule included appearances at venues in Argentina, Spain, Mexico and Chile.
