Marcela Gándara is a Mexican singer-songwriter who performs in the Christian music genre. Born on August 24, 1983, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuaha, she started singing at a very young age and later deepened her ties to Christian music by joining her local church choir. After collaborating with the likes of Jesús Adrián Romero and Abel Zavala, she released her studio debut Más Que un Anhelo in 2006. Produced by Kiko Cibrián, the album enjoyed great popularity within the Latin Christian music scene thanks to tracks like "Supe Que Me Amabas" and the Jesús Adrián Romero duet "Dame Tus Ojos." She followed this success with her sophomore effort Digno es el Señor (2008) and the live album Marcela Gándara en Vivo Desde Panamá, released in 2009. Later that year, Marcela Gándara unveiled a third studio album titled El Mismo Cielo, which won Album of the Year at the AMCL Awards. Following a short break from her recording schedule, she returned in 2012 with the live album Live. Released in 2017, her fourth full-length Cerca Estás was nominated for Best Christian Album (Spanish Language) at the 2018 Latin Grammy Awards.
