Brazilian singer, guitarist and composer Márcio Faraco moved to France in the early 1990s. After a chaotic career, he released his first album, Ciranda (2000), with a bossa nova flavour. On his fiftieth birthday, he celebrated this style with a fifth album, Um Rio (2008). The most Francophile of Brazilian musicians, singing in both languages, released the albums O Tempo in 2011 and Cajueiro in 2014.
