Mari Kodama is an acclaimed classical pianist from Japan who has earned an international reputation for her performances and recordings of concertos by Beethoven. She performs often with her sister, pianist Momo Kodama, with appearances at major concert halls around the world. Their latest release, 'Bohuslav Martinu: Double Concertos for Violin & Piano' with violinists Sarah and Deborah Nemtanu and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille conducted by Lawrence Foster, came out in May 2018. Born in Osaka, she grew up in Europe and is based now in Canada. She studied with Germaine Mounier and Geneviève Joy-Dutilleux at the Paris Conservatory and made her first public appearance in Japan in 1984. She has played as a soloist at many of the most prominent festivals and given extensive recitals and made recordings of all of Beethoven's piano sonatas. Her 2018 schedule included performances in Canada, Russia and the Netherlands with dates set for Japan, Germany and Italy.
