Marques Houston

Also known as Batman, Marques Houston was the lead vocalist with the boy band Immature/IMx throughout the 1990s. Born in Los Angeles on August 4, 1981, he turned to acting with a recurring role on the television series Sister Sister. Also a record producer, he has continued to act on TV and in movies and sustained a solo singing career. The Los Angeles-born performer's 2003 debut solo album MH went to number five on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and a bonus track on the release, "Clubbin'' featuring Joe Budden & Pied Piper, reached number 12 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. Houston's second album, Naked, peaked at number five on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and the title track hit number eight on the Singles Chart. His 2007 album Veteran topped the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and reached number five on the Billboard 200. Two years later Mr. Houston went to number nine on the Billboard Independent Albums Chart and number 12 on the R&B/Hip-Hop. Subsequent releases included Mattress Music (2010) and Famous (2013). Throughout this time, Houston did production work for artists including B2K and Destiny's Child and worked steadily as an actor in TV shows such as A Different World, The Parent Hood, One On One and Will to Love plus feature films as House Party 4: Down to the Last Minute (2001), You Got Served (2004), Boogie Town (2010), Battlefield America (2012) and three editions of the Somebody Help Me franchise. After a long absence since the reunion of IMx in 2011 and his previous personal album in 2013, he returned to music with the album Me in 2022 and confirmed two years later with The Best Worst Year Ever, including as guests French Chevelle and I Rich.
