Multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter, Martin Gore, along with Dave Gahan, has been the mainstay of Depeche Mode since 1979. Given Depeche Mode's success and busy schedule during the first decades of its existence, Martin Gore (or Martin L. Gore as he is sometimes credited) has made few solo escapades. The first came in 1989 with the Counterfeit EP. Released in 2003, his first album Counterfeit² is a good electro-rock affair. In the early 2000s, he collaborated on various tracks with Client, Gwen Stefani and Nouvelle Vague, for whom he covered "Master and Servant" in 2009 with Mélanie Pain. In 2011, he reunited with Vince Clarke for the duo VCMG and a minimalist electro album. In 2015, Martin Gore released the album MG.
