The brothers embarked on their professional music career in 2011 as MR, before changing their name to Mau & Ricky in 2015. Their song, "Mi Mala (Remix)," featuring Karol G, Becky G, Leslie Grace, and Lali, peaked at Number 44 on the Hot Latin Songs chart. In 2017, Mau & Ricky released their first EP, Arte, under Sony Music Latin and were nominated for Best New Artist and Song of the Year (for "Vente Pa' Ca") at the Latin Grammy Awards. In 2019, they released their first full-length album, Para Aventuras y Curiosidades, which reached Number 3 on Billboard's Latin Pop chart and remained there for 39 weeks. In 2020, the duo released another album, Rifresh, followed by Degenerados Mixtape in 2023. Also in 2023, Mau & Ricky released the single "Manos Frías," a collaboration with Reik and Beéle that cracked the Top 40 of the Mexican radio charts.
