MCDavo is the stage name of Mexican rapper and singer-songwriter David Sierra Treviño, who rose to popularity in the 2010s with a series of independent releases that enjoyed great popularity on the social networks MySpace and HHGroups. Born on June 30, 1991, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, he took his first steps in the local hip-hop scene alongside artists like Adán Zapata, Kódigo 36, and WOW Crew. After gaining online fame with the independently-released mixtapes Psicosis (2011) and Psicosis II (2012), MCDavo signed with Warner Music México and made his major-label debut in 2015 with the full-length El Dominio, which won Best Album of the Year at the Ritmo Urbano Awards and received a deluxe reissue later that year. Preceded by the 2016 singles "Round 3" with C-Kan and "Toda la Noche" with Darkiel, his second studio LP Las 2 Caras saw the light in 2017. Featuring cameos by Santa Fe Klan, Khea, C-Kan, and Pablo Chill-E, the album Canciones Mamalonas hit retail in 2020 and was followed by the release of a second volume in 2021. Only a year later, MCDavo and C-Kan issued the single "Round 7," the seventh installment in their long-running freestyle series.
