MC Joaozinho VT

MC Joãozinho VT, born João Vitor in 2001 in Osasco, São Paulo, is a prominent figure in the Brazilian funk scene. Growing up in the outskirts of São Paulo, he was immersed in the sounds of rap and funk, and started his music journey at just 13 years old. His breakthrough came at 19, after years of dedication. Encouraged by his father, a metalworker who set up a studio to support his son's ambitions, MC Joãozinho VT transitioned from being a videomaker to recording his own tracks. In 2018, he signed with the renowned funk label GR6, releasing well-produced singles like "Pop Star" and "Princesa." However, it was the release of "Coração Gelado" in 2020 that marked a turning point, quickly surpassing 500,000 views in just a month. The song's success led to a follow-up, "Coração Gelado 2," which amassed 2 million views within a day of its release. MC Joãozinho VT is known for blending social commentary with the traditional beats of funk, going beyond the genre’s usual themes. He has also collaborated with key artists like Don Juan and Pedrinho on tracks such as "Vou de Lala." In 2022, he showcased a more spiritual side with "Confia em Deus" and continued his momentum with "Nóis É o Funk." 2024 saw the release of the single "Tropa do Sem K.O" with MC Tuto and MC Vine7, followed by his debut album Coração de Ouro later that year.
