Mejibray

Founded by guitarists MiA and Ippu, drummer Meto, bassist Koichi, and vocalist Tsuzuku, Mejibray is a heavy metal / visual kei band formed in Tokyo, Japan in 2011. Originally intended to be a solo project for former VanessA frontman Genki, he soon changed his name to Tsuzuku and the band became Mejibray. Shortly after the release of their debut single “Killing Me” in August 2011, the quintet became a quartet when Ippu departed the band. Mejibray released their first mini album, Slivers.exe, at the end of the year, which was followed in 2012 by the hit single “Sabato,” which climbed to number 4 on the Japanese Indie Singles chart. The single was lifted from their debut album Emotional [KARMA], which was released in May 2012. The band’s popularity began to rise and by September, they were playing sold out shows and releasing several more hit singles including “Sadisgate,” “Emily,” and the limited edition “Toroshina.” Their second mini album, MESSIAH.bat (2013), was followed by several Top 40 singles including two that reached number 3: “Ugly Poem” and “Decadance – Counting Goats… If I Can’t Be Yours.” A prolific band, Mejibray released their first singles collection, S.M., in 2014, which was followed at the end of the year by their second album, The ‘420’ Theatrical Roses. The band remained busy as a live band while also releasing the singles “Nepenthes” and “Eiki” and the mini album Venoms.app in 2015. Several more singles followed into 2016, which led to the release of their second singles collection, S.M. #2, in 2017. However, on December 31, 2017, the band announced their hiatus as Koichi and Tsuzuku left to form the pop group 8P-SB.
