Austrian musician and pop singer Melissa Naschenweng was born in Villach on July 11, 1990. She became passionate about music at a young age and gained her first experience on stage before coming second in the folk music Grand Prix Melodien der Alpen in 2010. She took part in the Musikantenstadl young talent competition in 2012 and the Puls 4 casting show Herz von Österreich in 2014. Her album Gänsehautgefühl is released in the same year, followed by further television appearances on German-speaking TV. in 2017, her album Kunterbunt reached number 3 in the Austrian charts and later won a gold record. Her single "Ich will 'nen Bauern als Mann", a cover version of "Ich will 'nen Cowboy als Mann", released in February 2018, is the theme song for the 15th season of the ATV show Bauer sucht Frau. With her subsequent albums Wirbelwind (2019) and LederHosenRock (2020), she is at the top of the Austrian charts for several weeks at a time. She is awarded platinum for both albums and is also placed in Germany and Switzerland. She released her first live album, Bergbauernshow Live, in December 2021. In 2022, Melissa Naschenweng released another number 1 album in her native Austria, Glück. This is followed a year later by the compilation I liab di: Die schönsten Hits (number 56 in Austria). Melissa Naschenweng's seventh studio album, Alpenbarbie, follows at the beginning of 2025. Once again, she makes it to the top of the Austrian charts. At number 2 in Switzerland and number 8 in Germany, it also reaches the top 10 in other countries for the first time.
