Born in Bradford, England on July 6, 1993, Melissa Steel is a soul/dance/reggae fusion vocalist. She started performing at the age of 7 and recorded her first composition at the age of 11. Three years later, she started uploading videos to her social media accounts and began building an international audience online. She signed to Atlantic Records in 2014. Her first release after signing was as a guest on Kove’s single “Way We Are”, which was issued in July 2014. Two weeks later, she issued her debut single, “Kisses for Breakfast” (featuring Popcaan). The single reached Number 10 on the UK Singles chart. Steel also appeared on singles by Krishane (“Drunk and Incapable”) and Blonde (“I Loved You”). Her second solo single, “You Love Me” (featuring Wretch 32). After a long break, Melissa appeared on Nathan Dawe’s digital single “Repeat After Me” in 2019.
