Messgram

Messgram is a Korean rock/post-hardcore band from Seoul, formed in the winter of 2011 by drummer Lee Soo-jin. The name "Messgram" represents the idea of disparate individuals with different styles and tastes coming together to form a cohesive unit. After facing some lineup changes, the band solidified its structure in 2016, consisting of Jiyoung on vocals, Yushik Shin on guitar, Chanhyun on bass, Soojin Lee on drums, and Jahnny Shin on vocals and keyboard. Messgram released their debut EP This Is A Mess But It's Us on April 8, 2014. The band's music is known for its eclectic mix of genres, blending early 1990s post-grunge, metal, trance, and post-hardcore to create a unique sound. They gained public attention in early November 2014 with a remake of Seo Taiji's single "Soyeokdong." In 2015, after the departure of their original vocalist YK, they held an online contest and recruited Kim Jiyoung as their new female vocalist. Their first release with Jiyoung was "Silent Scream," the theme song for the Korean MMORPG Arpiel in 2015. Later that year, Messgram joined the Beyond the Ocean Tour alongside other Korean bands like Noeazy and End These Days. They have also released another single in the same year called "This Is a Mess, But It's Us".
