Meute

Often described as a “techno marching band,” the German eleven-piece known as MEUTE reinterprets the biggest hits in electronic music with acoustic brass instruments and percussion, imbuing the songs with an organic feel. Founded in Hamburg in 2015 by trumpeter Thomas Burhorn, the band had their breakthrough only a year later with “Rej,” a cover of Berlin-based DJ duo Âme that went viral soon after its release. Their full-length debut, Tumult, arrived in 2017 and prompted a European tour through Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, and Luxembourg. By 2018, they had already become one of the most solicited festival acts in Europe, playing at the ESNS in the Netherlands and SXSW in the United States. That same year also saw their online popularity grow exponentially, as two videos from unannounced performances in Berlin and Rome both racked up millions of views on their streaming channel. In 2019, MEUTE released the live album Live in Paris, recorded at Le Trianon, and toured incessantly throughout Europe and North America. A third album titled Puls dropped in 2020 and included covers of Deadmau5’s “Slip” and Röyksop’s “What Else Is There?”
