Michael J. Sheehy's influences are predominantly American, evident from the very first bars of any of his excellent albums. Yet the former Dream City Film Club frontman is English, bringing a quirky sense of humor to an otherwise almost desperate country blues. Sweet Blue Gene (2000), Ill Gotten Gains (2001), No Longer My Concern (2002), Ghost on the Motorway (2007) and With These Hands (2009) form the framework of a body of work reminiscent of David Lynch's cinematic work.
