Michael Schenker (born January 10, 1955 in West Germany) was first solo guitarist with Scorpions, then UFO and then Scorpions again, before forming The Michael Schenker Group in 1980. An excellent guitarist, over the years Michael Schenker has surrounded himself with numerous collaborators in an ever-changing line-up. The Michael Schenker Group (1980) and M.S.G. (1981) launched a career that was soon buoyed by continued success in Japan in particular(Built to Destroy peaked at No. 6 in 1983). The albums Be Aware of Scorpions (2001) and Arachnophobiac (2003) define the style of a band that has reinvented itself over time, with Robin McAuley (vocals) and Steve Mann (guitar, keyboards) as faithful contributors. From 1987 to 1992, the McAuley Schenker Group, centered around the guitarist and singer, was in full swing. In 2022, Universal honors the German, Japanese and Swedish charts.
