Born Michael Modine in Belfast in 1972, the Northern Irish DJ and producer known as Micky Modelle was voted Ireland's DJ of the year in 2000 but burst onto the dance production scene in 2006 with his Euro house remix of "Dancing in the Dark", originally released by Belgian artist Jessy in 2004. The track rose to number ten on the UK Singles Chart, number five in the Republic of Ireland, and to number seven in Belgium. That same year, he teamed up with Jessy again for another shot at chart success with "Over You", going to number 35 on the UK Singles Chart and 18 on the Irish Singles Chart, respectively. He remixed Samantha Mumba's "Gotta Tell You" in 2008 and dropped the single "Whine Up" vs Ghetto Busterz in 2009 before taking a break from music only to re-emerge triumphant in 2022 and strike number 62 on the Irish Singles Chart thanks to "Superstar" with Belters Only.
