Dubbed by the press as the “German Justin Bieber,” singer-songwriter Mike Singer (January 20, 2000) was born in Kehl to Russian immigrants but grew up in the city of Offenburg. A self-taught musician, he started writing and producing his own material at the age of 12. After participating in the reality music competition The Voice Kids in 2013 on Lena Meyer-Landrut’s team, Singer dropped his debut album, Only You, in 2014. Sung mostly in English, the LP further raised his profile and paved the way for the 2015 EP Nur mit Dir, which helped him gain a substantial online following and land a recording contract with Warner Music Group. Karma, his first release for the label, shot straight to the top of the German charts and so did its successor, 2018’s Deja Vu. That same year, he was featured on Kay One’s “Netflix & Chill” and issued the standalone single “Bella Ciao” before topping the charts once again with his third album, Trip (2019). Shortly after, Singer returned with the album Paranoid?! (2020) and entered the Top 50 with the single “Verdammt ich lieb’ Dich,” released in 2021.
