Karen Marie Aagaard Ørsted, who goes by her stage name MØ, is a singer-songwriter of electronic pop from Denmark who took an interest in music as a child and in 2006 released tracks under the name The Edmunds. She formed MOR in 2007 with Josefine Struckmann Pedersen and they produced two EPs before disbanding in 2012. Following concert and television appearances as a solo artist, she released her debut album 'No Mythologies to Follow' in 2014 and she won prizes in the Danish Music Awards. International notice followed and she began performing around the world. Major Lazer & Snake's 2015 single 'Lean On' (2015) featuring MØ topped Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Chart, reached number two on the UK Singles Chart and number four on the Hot 100. Major Lazer's 'Cold Water' (2016) featuring Justin Bieber and MØ also topped the Dance/Electronic Songs Chart and UK Singles Chart and went to number two on the Billboard 100. Iggy Azalea's 'Beg for It' (2015) featuring MØ peaked at number 27 on the 100 and reached number eight on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. MØ's 'Final Song' went to number 14 in the UK and Diplo's 'Get It Right' (2018) featuring MØ went to number 12 on the Dance/Electronic Chart and their single 'Stay Open' (2018) peaked at number 44.
