Monetochka

Elizaveta Andreevna Gyrdymova is a Russian pop singer who releases music under the stage name Monetochka. She was born on June 1, 1998, in Yekaterinburg, Russia. A poet from an early age, she began publishing her writing to various websites as a teenager. She also nurtured an interest in classic cinema, even attending correspondence classes at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in Moscow as an 18 year old. Around the same time, she began uploading her own music to the internet under the alias "Monetochka." Her first album, Psychedelic Cloud-Rap, was recorded at home and released in January 2016, earning the young songwriter a viral following as well as two Jager Music Awards for "Group of the Year" and "Single of the Year." One year later, she collaborated with Viktor "BTsKh" Isaev on the single "Poslednyaya diskoteka." Her second album, Coloring for Adults, followed in 2018 and reached Number 1 on Yandex Music's Top 100 chart with the single "Nimfomanka." The album's remaining 9 songs all appeared on the Top 100 chart, too. Arts and Crafts arrived in 2020, with Prayers. Jokes. Toasts appearing in 2024. The latter album featured "Селфхарм" and "Кис Кис Кис," both of which on the Shazam charts in multiple countries throughout 2024. Meanwhile, the song "Selfharm" enjoyed a warm reception in America, too, where it debuted at number 26 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 in June 2024.
