Monsters of Folk is a so-called "side project". Its members began playing together in 2004, on the bangs of their usual bands. The encounter between Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes), Jim James (My Morning Jacket) and M. Ward is bound to make you salivate. Listening to this supergroup's debut album, soberly titled Monsters of Folk, there's plenty to get excited about. Monsters of Folk is nothing less than a modern-day version of the legendary Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
