Gospel / R&B singer, songwriter, musician, and producer Montell Frazier – born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 19, 1997 – is better known by his stage name, Montell Fish. Coming from a broken home, he lived with his religious mother but chose to pursue music instead of focusing on his faith. He released his first mixtape, My Friend’s Couch, in 2014, but finally discovered his faith by the release of his second mixtape, somewhereintheforest / Reading the Bible, the following year. His next release, As We Walk into Forever (2016) brought him to the attention of a wider audience, as did 2017’s Bedroom Gospel mini album. After the release of the albums, It's Beautiful (2018), Nights & Days (2019), and Bedroom Lofi (2019), he finally came to prominence in 2021 when he unleashed his single “Talk 2 Me” on several social media platforms. The song took on a life of its own, earning millions of streams in the process and climbing into Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart. After relocating to Brooklyn, New York, Montell Fish released the album Jamie (2022), which entered the UK’s Christian / Gospel Albums chart at number 3. The album featured the single “Fall in Love with You,” which has been streamed more than 150 million times on social media. He then released the Her Love Still Haunts Me Like a Ghost EP (2023), which paved the way for the highly anticipated 2024 album Charlotte.
