Philadelphia hip-hoppers Moosh and Twist were originally called OCD Moosh and Twist, the OCD pre-fix being a nod to their self-acknowledged obsession with music. The duo's first mixtape was released in 2011 while the two school friends were still in high school. A series of videos and mixtapes were subsequently released and promoted on YouTube and then in 2014 Living Out Loud, a seven-track EP released on iTunes, reached number five on the iTunes Hip-Hop Chart and number one the Billboard Heatseekers list. The Living Out Loud EP was heavily promoted with a 21-city tour across America alongside New York rapper Jared Evan. Later that year the duo were invited to appear at the Forbes Under 30 music festival, a precursor to their first European appearances in the winter of that year. Growing Pains was released in 2015, a rolling body of work which gathered momentum as the duo released more and more tracks from it.
