Mr Vegas is part of the commercial dancehall pack, following in the footsteps of Beenie Man and Shaggy. His first Jamaican hits, "Nike Air" and "Heads High " in 1998, drew attention to his distinctive phrasing. In 2003, his fame reached France with "Tout le monde debout ", on which he collaborated with Nèg'Marrons. Pull Up" became a minor hit in 2004, reaching No. 30 on the French charts.
