Muireann Bradley

Irish blues singer and guitarist Muireann Bradley broke through in 2024 with her debut album I Kept These Old Blues. Born in Ballybofey, County Donegal, on December 18, 2006, she learned to play guitar at the age of nine, specializing in the finger-picking technique favored by interwar blues musicians. She developed her own style in primitive country blues, combined with folk in what is known as "old time music", which she revives through covers and personal compositions. Appearing on Jools Holland's BBC show Jools' Annual Hootenanny on December 31, 2023, where she received a standing ovation, Muireann Bradley aroused growing interest, which led to her Tompkins Square debut album, I Kept These Old Blues, entering the top ten download charts in the UK, before reaching number 30 in the jazz and blues charts the following year. In December 2024, the musician signed a contract with Decca Records, who released a remastered version of her album, including covers of "Candyman", "Shake Sugaree", "Green Rocky Road" and "Freight Train Blues".
