Taichi Mukai, born on March 13, 1992, is a Japanese singer, songwriter, and model hailing from Fukuoka, Japan. Growing up, Mukai's home was filled with the sounds of roots, reggae, and hip-hop and his own musical journey was influenced by R&B artists like DOUBLE, HI-D, Crystal Kay, and Full Of Harmony, introduced to him by his brother. In 2010, Mukai headed to Tokyo, joining jazz and funk band, Modio, uploading his music to social media in his spare time, where he released new songs each month from April to December 2016. His first EP, Pool, dropped in March 2016, signing with Miya Terrace the following year to release new single "Slow Down" and second EP 24, followed by "Fly" in 2017. After teaming up with rapper SALU to release "Sora," his first album, Blue, debuted in 2017, featuring the hit song "Freer," gaining the singer a huge following after it was used in a Samsung Galaxy Note8 commercial. Mukai’s musical odyssey continued with the BLUE TOUR 2018 and his limited-edition EP Love landed the singer at number 26 on the digital charts, which saw him perform to sold-out shows in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka. "Crazy," another limited single, dropped in August, which was chosen as the ending theme to television anime series, The Wind Is Blowing. In 2018, Mukai unveiled his second full album, Pure, which landed at number 26 on the Japan Billboard charts with the singer showing no signs of slowing down over the coming years, releasing two EPs, 27 (2019) and Supplement (2020) as well as four albums: Savage (2019), Colorless (2021), Antidote (2022) and The Last (2023)
