Nav

Punjabi-Canadian rapper Navraj Singh Goraya, aka Nav, was born to Sikh emigrant parents in Toronto on November 3, 1989. After his mother bought him a portable speaker when he was a teenager, he became interested in creating music. He began by producing his own tracks using computer-assisted music software. After his participation in the production of Drake's "Back to Back" in 2015 and the viral success of "Myself " (2016), he released his first mixtape, Nav (2017), under The Weeknd's XO Records label, followed the same year by Perfect Timing, with Metro Boomin. A single with The Weeknd, "Some Way", drew attention to him, but it really wasn't until the 2018 release of Reckless, his debut album, that we saw the expansion of his notoriety. Although critically panned, the album was a huge success with the public thanks to streaming, soon followed by Bad Habits (2019), a No. 1 album in the United States featuring contributions from Gunna, Lil Durk, Meek Mill and Young Thug. Having become a sure thing in Canadian rap by establishing himself internationally, he collaborates with artists such as The Weeknd, Belly, Travis Scott, Drake, Kodak Black, Lil Uzi Vert, Quavo, Playboi Carti, Offset, Gucci Mane, A$AP Ferg, Meek Mill and 21Savage. In 2020, his new track "Turks " (#17), produced with Gunna and Travis Scott, preceded the release of the album Good Intentions (ranked #1 again) and its enriched follow-up Brown Boy 2, also including the Brown Boy EP. The same year sees the collective track "Lemonade", featuring Internet Money, Gunna and Don Tolliver, reach No. 1 in the UK (No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100) and the release of the mixtape Emergency Tsunami (No. 6 on the Billboard 200). Rated No. 2, the fourth album by rapper and producer Demons Protected by Angels (2022), features the trio "Never Sleep" (No. 50), joined by Lil Baby and Travis Scott. After attending the Coachella festival in April 2024, Nav finishes recording the OMW2 Rexdale album (2025), with contributions from Don Toliver and Playboi Carti, as well as his loyal associate Metro Boomin on "Real Me". The album reaches #34 in Canada and #37 on the Billboard 200.
