Nevio Passaro is a German-Italian singer and songwriter, known for songs such as his breakout hit 'Amore per Sempre'. He was born in the South of Germany, and as a young child his interest in music was nurtured by his mother, a music teacher. He learned to play the piano and guitar while still in school. Passaro had an early flirtation with the music industry, releasing the single 'La mia Parola' in 1999. It failed to chart, however, and it was seven years before he put out another release. The music industry did come knocking again, however, and in 2006 he signed a record deal with Universal. It resulted in a much bigger debut than his earlier false start, with 'Amore per Sempre' storming the German Singles Charts to reach number two in January 2007. His first album, 'Nevio', was released the following month and had similar success, reaching number five and going gold. 2007 proved a big year, with Passaro winning a Comet music prize for Best Newcomer, a nomination for Best Artist and the Bavarian Popkomm-Musiklöwe as 'Shootingstar 2007' as well as embarking on a tour across Germany and Austria. Since 'Nevio', Passaro has released the albums 'Due' (2008), 'Berlino' (2011) and 'Berlino Reloaded', as well as a flurry of singles.
