Nicholas McDonald

Born in Wishaw, Scotland on November 23, 1996, vocalist Nicholas ‘Nicky’ McDonald is best-known as the runner-up on The X Factor (Season 10) in 2013. McDonald auditioned for The X Factor in Glasgow in June, 2013, and received a ‘no’ from Gary Barlow, but he was overruled by the three other judges and McDonald made it through. He lost the final competition to Sam Bailey but still received a recording contract with RCA Records. His debut album, In the Arms of an Angel, was released in March, 2014 and hit the Number 1 spot in Scotland and Number 6 on the UK albums chart. In the Arms of an Angel featured the hit single “Answerphone”. While McDonald began recording his second album in 2017, only one single – “Limelight” – was released in 2018.
