Born on 20 May 1961 in Beckenham, Kent, he began his musical journey in the late 1970s, forming several bands with friends before settling on Haircut One Hundred. After a period of relative quiet, he returned with the album Woodland Echoes in 2017, his first pop album in 18 years, which received positive reviews. In recent years, he has continued to perform and record, maintaining a dedicated fanbase and contributing to the pop and rock music scenes. In 2022, his 2006 album The Mermaid and the Lighthouse Keeper was re-released.
