Nickodemus

Initially a DJ and host of the Turntables on the Hudson parties in New York, Nickodemus professes a blend of soul and world music, set against a backdrop of trip-hop and dub. A musical cousin of Thievery Corporation, his style is nevertheless closer to hip-hop than lounge. Apart from the Turntables on the Hudson series of DJ sets launched in 1999, Nickodemus came to prominence with the album Endangered Species in 2005. Nourished by Latin rhythms in 2009, Sun People is followed by Sun People Remixed a few months later. Nickodemus is also a renowned remixer, having worked for Bebel Gilberto and Boozoo Bajou. In 2012, Moon People is a darker version of Sun People.
