Níkos Oikonomópoulos

The multi-platinum selling singer Nikolaos 'Nikos' Oikonomopoulos is a phenomenon within the Greek music business. Of his ten studio albums to date, his last seven have all reached number one with eight of them achieving platinum status. It's an incredible feat for the artist from the northern Peloponnese city of Patra who 13 years ago was a struggling singer taking jobs in the fishing and fast food industry to make ends meet. His fortunes changed in 2006 when he entered and won the reality TV talent show 'Dream Show - The Music 2'. His debut album 'Proti Agapi' was released the following year and brought the singer a string of hit singles including 'Den Eisia Entaxei', 'Koita na Mathaineis' and 'Afto to Asteri'. Singing in the traditional Greek folk or Laiko style, Nikos enjoyed a meteoric rise to stardom as he rapidly became one of Greece's most successful recording artists. He is now one of the most-viewed Greek artists on YouTube and his most recent album '10' (2017) spawned no less than five hit singles.
