Best known for her Number 1 single "Bu Mudur?," Nil Karaibrahimgil is a Turkish dance-pop artist, songwriter, actress, and TV personality. She was born as "Ferhan Nil Karaibrahimgil" on October 17, 1976, in Ankara, Turkey. After graduating from Boğaziçi University in 2000, she began writing her own songs, 13 of which appeared on her debut album, Nil Dünyası, in 2002. The album was produced by Ozan Çolakoğlu, who also worked with Nil Karaibrahimgil on her 2004 follow-up, Nil FM. That same year, she began writing a weekly column in the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet. She worked with Çolakoğlu once again on 2006's Tek Taşımı Kendim Aldım, which featured the chart-topping hit "Bu mudur?," and made her film debut in 2008 sci-fi movie A.R.O.G: A Prehistoric Film. 2009's Nil Kıyısında featured another Number 1 single, "Seviyorum Sevmiyorum," as well as contributions from a new producer, Alper Erinç. Although Karaibrahimgil continued to write and release new material with albums like 2012's Ben Buraya Çıplak Geldim and 2019's Nil'den İyi Gelen Sesler, her older songs maintained a space in Turkish pop culture, too, with 2004's "Ben Aptal mıyım" even rocketing to Number 1 on Turkey's Top 200 Shazam chart in 2022.
