Born Kobe Vidal Crawford in Mobile, Alabama on August 20, 1998, the rapper known as NoCap has been at the forefront of Alabama's thriving hip-hop scene since 2017. Beginning his career with the Joker EP that year, Crawford has released five mixtapes and a number of singles that encompass everything from silky Auto-Tune to southern trap and acoustic guitar loops. Crawford's 2018 mixtape The Backend Child garnered critical acclaim for its standout gold-certified single "Ghetto Angels", while in 2019 he welcomed the release of fourth mixtape, The Hood Dictionary, featuring guest appearances from Quando Rondo, Lil Durk, and Jagged Edge. The tape peaked at number 80 on the Billboard 200. In July 2020, Crawford dropped his fifth mixtape, Steel Human, which featured guest spots from DaBaby, Lil Uzi Vert, Boosie Badazz, and Jacquees. Mr. Crawford, his highly anticipated studio debut, appeared in 2022 and quickly climbed to Number 8 on the Billboard 200. The album's star-studded lineup included cameos by Kodak Black, Internet Money, and YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
