Best known for the chart-topping R&B hit "Back To Your Place," October London is a multi-time Soul Train Music Award nominee who, in addition to pursuing a solo career, has actively collaborated with rapper Snoop Dogg. He was born as "Jared Samuel Erskine" in South Bend, Indiana, on October 17, 1986. Raised by a musical family, he began performing a mix of modern-day soul and R&B, introducing that sound with his first EP, The Introduction, in 2013. A second EP, Color Blind: Love, followed in late 2016. Snoop Dogg became a fan of London's music and signed him to the rapper's own label, Cadillacc Music. When Cadillacc dissolved, London partnered with Death Row Records instead. His first release for the longstanding hip-hop label was 2022's Crypto Winter (The Dubstep/House Album), followed by The Rebirth of Marvin in early 2023. The Rebirth of Marvin proved to be his commercial breakthrough, thanks in large part of the single "Back To Your Place," which reached Number 1 on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart during the summer of 2023. That same year, October London was nominated in four categories at the Soul Train Music Awards, including "Song of the Year" and "Best R&B/Soul Male Artist." As 2023 gave way to 2024, "Back To Your Place" returned to the top of the Adult R&B Songs chart and paved the way for another hit, "Mulholland Drive," which debuted at number 28 on the same chart in late March.
