Otis Taylor is an American blues singer and multi-instrumentalist who was born in Chicago but grew up in Denver where he learned to play and began to perform professionally. After a stint in England, in 1977 he turned his back on music to work as an antiques dealer until 1995 and since then he has released more than a dozen albums playing what he terms 'trance blues'. He has collaborated with many other major blues artists, toured around the world, earned Blues Music Awards nominations and received a fellowship at the Sundance Film Composers Laboratory. He made his album debut with 'Blue Eyed Monster' in 1997 and other titles include 'When Negroes Walked the Earth' (2000) and 'White African' (2001), 'Truth Is Not Fiction' (2003) went to number 14 on Billboard's Blues Album Chart, 'Recapturing the Banjo' (2008) reached number six, 'Pentatonic Wars and Love Songs' (2009) number ten and 'Clovis People: Vol. 3' (2010) and 'My World Is Gone' (2013) peaked at number eleven.
