Hailing from Istanbul, Ozbi is a Turkish rapper best known for hip-hop hits like 2018's "Hadi Gittik" and 2020's "O bi karamel." He was born as "Onur Dursun" on January 30, 1986, and raised by a family that hailed from Erzincan. Interested in rap music since his teenage years, he studied Turkish language and literature at Anadolu University, where sharpened the literary skills that would eventually inform his lyrics. Dursun began releasing music in 2013, using the stage name "Ozbi" and kickstarting his solo career with the single "Asi." The song was released amidst the Gezi Park protests and was followed by a second single, "Kazulet," that same year. Ozbi made his full-length debut in 2014 with Halk Edebiyatı, but his real breakthrough arrived in 2016 with the release of his first EP, Rakılı Live 1. Seri. Created with help from Gülce Duru, the EP featured "Olmazlara Yandim," a viral hit that earned 15 million streams on Spotify. Equally successful was the EP's 2017 follow-up, Rakılı Live 2. Seri. One year later, Ozbi released his second album, Serserilik ve Şiir. He appeared on Şanışer's hit single "Susamam" in 2019 and released the third installment of his Rakılı Live series in 2020. "Geceyi Anlatmış," a non-album single, was also released in 2020 and proved to be enormously successful, receiving more than 50 million streams on Spotify alone. Four years after its release, the song continued to enjoy commercial success, peaking at number 2 on Turkey's Top 200 Shazam chart in April 2024.
