Paola Jara

Colombian singer and actress Paula Andrea Zapata Jaramillo is better known by her stage name Paola Jara. She was interested in music from an early age, taking guitar and singing lessons and entering various local competitions whilst she was at school. She sings in a folk style similar to the Ranchera style from Mexico, with a Latin/pop flavour. Her debut album 'Paola Jara' was released on the label Codiscos in 2009, and contained songs in the Ranchera style. The single 'Voy a Olvidart' (2009) became her first hit from this album. In 2014, she released the album 'Inigualable', followed by the single 'Que Sufra, Que Chupe Y Que Llore' in 2016. Jara took part in the televised singing competition 'Se Busca Interprete' on the RCN Network. As one of very few female Ranchera singers, she gained popularity on the show by promoting her style of singing. Her third album 'En Tus Manos' was released in 2019 and the single 'Mala Mujer' was also released in the same year.
