Papi Sanchez, from the Dominican Republic, is a genre unto himself. By mixing merengue and rap, he created merenrap, the only genre to enjoy an international career. Papi Sanchez left the Dominican shores in 2003 with "Enamorame", the hit of autumn 2004 in Europe and a No. 2 in France. Papi Sanchez struck again the following year with "Dilema", his version of Nelly's "Dilemma". His albums Yeah Baby! (2003), Made in Dominican Republic (2007) and El Rey de la Republic (2008) were less successful internationally.
