Paradis is a French electronic music group founded in Paris by Simon Mény and Pierre Rousseau. The duo, who don't really share the same tastes at the outset, nevertheless share a fascination for Larry Heard's Chicago house anthem "Can You Feel It" and a certain form of elegant French chanson from the 1980s. He took the time to imagine a refined sonic aesthetic, somewhere between the tempo of deep house, the electronic pop of New Order and the sensitive disco of Arthur Russell. This singular fusion can be heard on a handful of EPs: "Parfait tirage / La ballade de Jim" in 2011, "Hémisphère / Je m'ennuie" in 2012 and "Couleurs primaires" in 2015. In 2016, the duo finally released their debut album, Recto Verso, a perfect synthesis of deep house and Etienne Daho-style synthpop, including a cover of Alain Chamfort's "Rendez-vous au paradis ".
